Five torque settings | To turn a standard ratchet into a torque wrench, simply power up the Digital Torque Adapter and select your desired unit of measurement--foot pounds, inch pounds, Newton meters, kilogram centimeters, or kilogram meters. Next, enter your desired torque. The number will flash for 10 seconds before displaying zero, signaling you're ready to go. Select and insert a ratchet into the square drive opening on the top of the unit. Then select and attach your desired socket into the square drive fitting on the bottom of the adapter. That's it. Your ratchet is ready for use as a torque wrench.Calibrate Any Torque Wrench With the Digital Torque Adapter, you can calibrate your digital or analog torque wrench to increase your tool's precision, accuracy, and safety. To calibrate your wrench, place the Powerbuilt calibration cube in a bench vice and tighten securely. Set your torque wrench for a setting for calibration (for best results, set it about halfway through the range of the wrench). Then insert the assembled wrench and adapter into the calibration cube. Apply slow and continuous pressure to the wrench until you reach your target torque setting. Adjust the wrench as needed until your wrench setting matches the digital display on the Digital Torque Adapter. When the numbers match, your wrench is accurately calibrated. LED indicator and audial notification | Built-in Safety Features To prevent over-torque, the Digital Torque Adapter is equipped with built-in safety features. Its LED indicator flashes green, yellow, and red as your desired torque is approached and attained. In addition, an audio alert beeps with progressive frequency and finally turns to a steady tone when your specified torque is reached. With the Powerbuilt Digital Torque Adapter, you can get the precise torque you want without snapping a nut or bolt in the process. What's in the Box Digital torque adapter, calibration cube, hard-shell storage case, and lithium cell CR2032 battery.

Good, but not perfect.... July 16, 2010 Mike in AZ I had to have this after reading about it in Popular Mechanics. I used it to calibrate my torque wrench (which ended up breaking right after I did this...figures) and use it for other automotive work around the garage. I like the fact that you can put it on the end of your 1/2" drive ratchet and torque fasteners in tighter spots than you could with say a large torque wrench. I still would not replace a torque wrench with this item. I should also note, that before my torque wrench came apart, the digital adaptor showed it was within 1-2 ft lbs throughout most of it's range 25-150 ft lbs. I'd say it's pretty accurate. Nice addition to the tool box.
very clever ! June 21, 2010 Mme Gourgouillon Marcurat (St Etienne France) very useful due to its precision; it is worth ordering it from the USA, as it cannot be found in France, although the postage is quite high !
favorable May 21, 2010 Mario Caimotto this is a valuable tool to have in your shop. i found that both of my vintage wrenches were out of specs. that is now corrected and i feel confident using them.
thank you.

Torque Tester April 26, 2010 James H. Hill (Wasilla, AK) This product allows me to calibrate all of my torque wrenches in the shop, rather than sending them out for calibration. Works fine. Easy to use.
Surprisingly accurate! April 4, 2010 S. Perkins I compared this to a calibrated torque wrench and it was always within about 2 percent. That's plenty close enough for my work, and the flexibility of being able to use it to turn even an ordinary breaker bar into a calibrated torque wrench makes it very appealing. Recommended!
