Top Notch as always August 28, 2008 Ricky L. Dungey These guys write a better book each year and I've had all 4 since they first started doing them. I tell people, if you are a casual football fan, you might kinda like it, but won't be able to get through it. But if you are an obsessive football fan, it is a must-read.
Consistently Awesome August 15, 2008 Ben F. Evans (Ann Arbor, MI) No one brings the good football analysis like these guys. If you are at all interested in understanding how and why things happen on the football field they way they do, look no further. Amongst many reasons, the annual release of this book is one of the best to look forward to August. Cheers.
Must have book for NFL football fans! August 13, 2008 Jared Castle (Roseburg, Oregon United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm like a kid on Christmas Day when this book arrived from Amazon. Why am I so happy? There's almost 500 pages! * Roughly 10 pages of analysis and stats on every NFL team. * Breakdowns of all skill positions Fantasy Football! * Fantasy Risers and Fallers - Bill Barnwell * Building a Better Draft Value Chart - Ben Riley * Wide Receivers: Size Matters - Rob Pitzer * Fantasy Projections * Actual Draft Value Chart Where else do you find stuff like this?!? * Rating the 32 Medical Staffs - Bill Barnwell and Will Carroll * The College Spread Offense: Bridging the Evaluation Gap - Doug Farrar
The Bible for Bloggers August 8, 2008 A. G. Brown (Silver Spring, MD USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I cover the NFL for MVN.com, a blog network of sports fans. The annual Pro Football Prospectus by FootballOutsiders.com has become the prime reference for preseason background about pro teams and players. You can find supporting analysis for your ideas about your topic to make your stories more than a fan rant. The Prospectus will also suggest when you are on the wrong track. It's an indispensable blogging tool.
Excellent Football Annual August 1, 2008 Edward W. Gross (Chicago, IL) This is the second straight year I've purchased Pro Football Prospectus, and it does not disappoint. There's the usual in-depth analysis of each team as well as a fantasy breakdown of just about every player you can reasonably expect to get playing time. The various essays that look further into certain players, teams, and trends are superb as well. This year, Football Outsiders added a "year in quotes" feature that had me laughing out loud.
