One is the story of 61-year-old Bob Blechen of Ventura, California, finishing his 46th season in football as a player on a semipro team. Another is of Dot Murphy, an assistant at Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, the only woman to coach on a college team in America. But the best is appropriately the last, a touching piece on the Gallaudet University Bisons in Washington, D.C., the only all-deaf college team in America, and their big bass drum that signals the start of their offensive plays.
