The package arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Also, I am pleased with the content of the book. Having grown up in the area where the book is describing, I enjoyed identifying with names and locations mentioned. I also learned alot about the Maroons which were a fogotten story for a long time.

5 out of 5 stars The Definitive Maroons Story   December 19, 2007

David Fleming has done the world a great service - he's condensed the internet's information, and so much more, into one concise story. This book is the Pottsville Maroons, Tony Latone, and the roaring 20s of the NFL all in one place, without the need to do the leg-work and fine-toothed comb searching on your own that the internet had previously required.

The book not only tells the story of the 1925 Championship, and the Pottsville Maroons, but also shows exceptionally well why the NFL should be doing more to keep the memory of these great men alive, and celebrate their history, not sweeping it under a carpet and conveniently forgetting about it all.

As far as most football fans are concerned, the only thins to come out of the early years of the NFL were Red Grange, George Hallas, Bronko Nagurski and the Green Bay Packers, when in reality there was so much more if people dared to look back.

I'd like to thoroughly congratulate Mr Fleming, and heartily recommend the book to anybody who deems themselves a football fan, as well as anyone interested by the Maroons story. For those people specifically - buy the book, there is so much more within its pages than you will ever find trauling the internet for information.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome story of the early days of the NFL   December 13, 2007

If you are an NFL fan, and love a little bit of history at all, and like to read well-written, interesting books, then buy this book. As an NFL fan since 1971 at age 7, I was fascinated by the story of the Pottsville Maroons and Tony Latone and the stolen title of 1925. This is a fast read, very interesting, and I guarantee you that you will learn some things in this book which you did not previously know. I would recommend this book for any NFL fan who loves to read. Highest Recommendation....This would get 100 stars out of 100 if the ratings went that high.
