Simple design but one of the better timers out there. I use it for Tabata intervals while working the heavy bag. Unlike some other more expensive timers on the market, it's flexible enough to allow multiple workout routines of varying duration WITHIN the same routine. This is a key feature to look for in a timer, especially if you are doing Tabatas or a similar type of interval training. I also like the vibrating alert feature, which is important if you use an iPod while working out.

I bought the Gymboss Interval timer for training purposes. I am a walker and am beginning to learn chi running. At this point I use it for a combination workout and just love it. Setup was easy, it couldn't be more user friendly, and the price certainly was right. I highly recommend the Gymboss!

It does what I need it to do for boxing and sprinting exercises. You can set 2 different times.
Boxing- 3min of workout, 1min of rest
Sprinting- 15 seconds of workout, 50 sec of rest.
Good stuff.
The price is a bit steep for what it only does. Though this was the cheapest interval timer I saw on this site.
Economy timer August 24, 2008
I use this timer for timing intervals on a heavybag or body opponent bag (BOB). It works great, and does everything I need it to at a reasonable cost. The alarm sounds loud when nothing else is happening, but sometimes I can't hear it when working on the heavybag with music playing over a speaker even though the timer is only a few feet away. To be fair, the chains and swivels for the heavybag make quite a bit of noise, and I don't have this problem when working with the BOB with music. The timer does everything I was hoping for, but could be a little louder.
