2 out of 5 stars Decent but clunky interface (really 1.5 stars)   December 20, 2008

I don't recommend item. I don't know if any of these cheap scales work: it is accurate for your weight but I don't know about the body fat--but it's not an easy thing to measure from what I gather. I do go the gym, but I don't know if I am an "athlete", what I do know is as an athlete I am 8%-9% body fat and as a normal person I am 13-15%.

Interface: I found it hard to use. It was easy enough to save the profiles, but I can't figure out how it can default to one, so I don't have to click all the settings again. It's also hard to see what the numbers mean; you have to kind of know what is body fat % and what is bone mass, I find it hard to read the scale that way. Weight is easy enough. This is an important part of the scale so I weigh it with two stars. 0.5/2 stars

Accuracy: The weight works and is quick, if there isn't an interface problem (I will get to that later). I already commented on the body fat part, so I don't know if it's any good. This is a cheap scale and works like one. 0.5/1 star

Quality: At first this thing was annoying with the body fat: I always have to confirm my height and click through my saved settings which is annoying, but if I don't wet my feet I just get an error. This means I have water around the bathroom, but that is something they say you need to do. Even then, it still only works like 2x/5x, which is annoying. After a few months I've noticed another problem--the scale doesn't always show the weight. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, it just shows some calculation like it's doing the body fat, then says "error". This is annoying as hell, as the body fat I might check like 1x a week, but weight I want to just step on and see. 0.5/2 stars.

Honestly, you get what you pay for. For $20 (what I paid), it's an expensive way to see how much you weigh, though I do like having it digitally. For $20, if it works, it's a great body fat scale.

That being said I find myself with a $20, over-priced weight scale because the body fat thing just doesn't register--if it's even right. Lesson learned the hard way. I do not recommend this product at all.

4 out of 5 stars one of the best scale   December 4, 2008

This is one of the best scales I have ever use. At first, it took me a few minutes, actually a couple hours to figure out the direction. I finally got it after tossing the instructions, but after the initial getting use to it was a piece of cake. I keep a notebook beside it to write down the number as they fly by making reviewing them easier.

Unable to program as the computer keeps flipping out- using more as a weight scale.

5 out of 5 stars Great scale   October 3, 2008

I've had this scale for about a month now and could not be more pleased. After one disastrous scale after the next, I was hesitant for quite a while to spend a bit of money on another, and researched scales for a few weeks. Finally decided on this one, and I'm glad I did.

Its very accurate. My body fat percentage is exact as well as my weight as compared to high priced equipment at my gym. My sister and I each have our own profiles stored according to our heights and ages, and it was very easy to program all of this. It is very light weight and definitely not an eye sore.

4 out of 5 stars Not for the technologically challenged   September 17, 2008

I purchased this scale when my office decided to have our own "biggest loser" contest. None of us (male or female) have figured out how to get the advanced functions to work. Nice design, large screen and very sturdy, but too complicated.
